When it comes to blending the realms of cute and creepy, no game does it like Cult Of The Lamb. Playing as the leader of a cult, you will strive to reinstate The One Who Waits to their deific glory by way of cultivating throngs of adoring followers; preferably ones who would do anything for their benevolent leader, including dying.
On your way to becoming a woolly-coated cult leader, you’ll unlock various trophies that vary from the unmissable to the near impossible. Here are the eight toughest achievements to earn in Cult Of The Lamb, and how to get each one.
8/8 Zero-Damage Trophies
These are actually a collection of four distinct achievements, but it doesn’t get much rougher than beating all the Bishops of the New Faith in order and taking zero damage in the process.
There are four achievements in total, one for each Bishop:
-
Order
(defeat Leshy without taking damage) -
Sate
(defeat Heket without taking damage) -
Cure
(defeat Kallamar without taking damage) -
Peace
(defeat Shamura without taking damage)
Of all the trophies, Cure is statistically the rarest achievement to earn aside from Godhood – but more about that one later.
7/8 Full Flock
This trophy is earned when you manage to unlock all Follower types. This can only be done by playing the game through to the end, purchasing each of the available Follower types at Midas’ Cave and Pilgrim’s Passage, and even paying for additional DLC separately.
Each biome from Darkwood to Silk Cradle features its own host of unique follower types to collect, so be sure to rescue as many lost souls as possible on your crusades in order to unlock them all.
Those who took part in the Blood Moon Festival event will have been able to unlock even more Follower forms, but these are supplementary to the ones found in the base game, and don’t count towards the achievement.
6/8 Full Deck
Much like number two on this list, you’re most likely to earn the Full Deck achievement after playing the game through completely, since it requires you to unlock all tarot cards available.
Tarot cards can be purchased from many places. You only use them during runs, but first, they need to be collected from the shops in one of the five areas you can explore outside the cult grounds. You’ll be paying for these with coins, however, so you’ll need to make some money before you go hunting this trophy down.
5/8 Hoarder Of Wealth
This is a tricky achievement that you can only get if you achieve a balance of 666 coins – yes, that number exactly.
Earning the money won’t be as difficult as resisting the urge to spend it, however, so the best way to go about this one is to earn as much money as you can and purchase seeds to get you back down to that unholy number.
If you purchase seeds strategically, you will be able to control your spending and keep an eye on those coffers. Money achievements are some of the most notoriously difficult game trophies to earn, so don’t beat yourself up if this one takes you longer than expected!
4/8 Transmute
You’ll unlock the Transmute trophy when you manage to collect all six fleeces, each one providing you with a unique buff whilst out on crusades.
In order to do this, of course, you’ll need to find every Talisman piece and complete a rather grisly side quest in the process.
Finding time to unlock every fleece is no easy task; you have your flock to think about, and we all know how hungry those guys get in a rather short span of time. However, it’s definitely worth the extra adventuring and all those Follower sacrifices if you really, really want to get the toughest achievements in the game.
3/8 Weigher Of Souls
If you’ve taken the aggressive route of being a harsh, somewhat cruel leader in Cult Of The Lamb – which actually makes the game a lot easier – you might have already unlocked this one.
Weigher Of Souls is awarded to you after sacrificing 20 Followers or more. This doesn’t count if you use the kinder-sounding option of allowing a Follower to Ascend. Nope, if you want to be a Weigher Of Souls and truly prove your reckless abandon for these pitiful creatures’ lives, you’ll have to sacrifice them the old-fashioned way.
It goes without saying that allowing Followers to die of old age doesn’t contribute to your body count, so unlock that Doctrine and get to the altar.
2/8 Master Of Chance
Fans of the minigame Knucklebones will rejoice to know that there is a special trophy in it for you if you manage to play and win against all available opponents.
In order to snag the elusive achievement, you’ll need to beat not only old friend Ratau in his Lonely Shack, but also Flinky, Klunko and Bop, and Shrumy. Before being able to challenge them at Ratau’s house, you’ll have to run into each opponent in their respective biome during one of your crusades.
After meeting them and watching a quick cutscene, you will receive a side-mission prompt to play them at Knucklebones the next time you escape back to the cult grounds – or die trying.
1/8 Godhood
One achievement to rule them all, the only way you’ll get your hoofs on Godhood is by earning every single other achievement in the game.
Sounds simple enough, right? Wrong. These eight trophies are just a handful of the ones you’ll have to get to grips with if you really want to transcend the sheepish boundary between mortal and immortal.
Only five percent of players have managed to unlock the rarest trophy, but it can definitely be done; after all, there’s no reason why a committed Cultist such as yourself shouldn’t ascend to Godhood themselves.
