Jackson Square kicked off its Christmas celebrations with a visit from The Grinch.
Dr Seuss’ fictional character from 1957 children’s book How The Grinch Stole Christmas! surprised shoppers at the Bishop’s Stortford precinct on the weekend of December 10 and 11.
The Grinch played tricks, games and jokes on shop staff and customers and handed out treats.
Centre manager Michael Smith said: “Christmas is a wonderful time for a community to come together and celebrate, and that’s exactly what we wanted The Grinch to do when we invited him down.
“We were hoping Cindy Lou Who would’ve come with him, but we all know how crazy the Whos are in the lead-up to Christmas.”
Jackson Square has a calendar full of festive celebrations, carolling and fundraising in the run-up to December 25.
