It was another historical night for the Taunton High wrestling team on Thursday.
The Tigers notched their first-ever win against Oliver Ames since joining the Hockomock League in 2012 by beating the visiting Tigers, 45-22, in an outdoor match at Aleixo “Tiger” Stadium.
Wrestlers who recorded pins for Taunton were James Collins, Ben Mandeville, Jackson Mandeville and Logan Frank. Other winners were Brandon Mendes, Sazlily St.Marc, Christian Balmain and Peter Ye.
OA received wins from Jaden Hinton (pin), Kyle Hardie, Stavros Constantinou, Deric Lipski (pin) and Anthony Hoffman.

GIRLS LACROSSE
Norwell 18, Mashpee 4: Allie Connerty had eight goals and three assists as the Clippers (8-4) cruised in the South Shore League Cup semifinals. Norwell will host Cohasset in Friday’s 4 p.m. final. Jane Smith added four goals, and Maddie McDonald and Reese Stoddard each scored twice.

Cohasset 14, Rockland 2: The Skippers advanced to the South Shore League Cup title game. Cohasset will play at Norwell on Friday at 4 p.m.

Hanover 11, Scituate 7: Senior captain Clare Connolly and senior Anna Tedeschi each had hat tricks as the host Hawks (8-4) edged the Sailors to book their spot in the Patriot Cup final against Duxbury on Monday. Senior captain Sydney Weber and senior Marj Tobin added two goals each for Hanover, and senior captain Jordan Tandler also scored.

Duxbury 14, Hingham 10: Bella Fisher scored six goals as the Green Dragons rallied in the Patriot Cup semifinals. Duxbury, which trailed 7-2 early and 8-7 at halftime, will play Hanover in Monday’s final.
Quincy 12, Whitman-Hanson 8: In a non-Patriot Cup game, senior Alyssa Ryan scored five goals to spark the Presidents (11-3). Junior Chloe Lynch scored twice, and senior Kayleigh Caldwell played well defensively.
Oliver Ames 11, Canton 5: The Tigers won on Senior Night as Hailey Bourne and Emma Sharkansky starred on offense. Ashley Almeida scored in her first start of the season, and Emma Pereira and Catherine O’Donnell were strong on draws. Seniors Emilee Nuss, Lili Lozano, Ella Isleib and Emma O’Donnell played tough defense.

BOYS LACROSSE
Duxbury 10, Marshfield 6: Will Nolan and Ryan Nagle each had hat tricks as the Green Dragons advanced to the Patriot Cup final to face either Hingham or Silver Lake next week.

Oliver Ames 13, Stoughton 5: Senior Remi Creighton and junior Wyatt Fritchman each had four goals and four assists for OA. Sophomore Ben Reardon added a hat trick. Sophomore Jake Manthous won 14 faceoffs, and classmate Noah Isleib made nine saves.

Bridgewater-Raynham 13, Plymouth South 2: Seniors Tim Keefe (7 goals) and Jackson Myers (3 goals) led the way offensively for B-R (9-3), while goalie Eddie Perry and the Trojan defense held the Panthers scoreless for 44 minutes after giving up two early goals.
BASEBALL
Archbishop Williams 16, Cardinal Spellman 1: Junior Shawn Harrington (Weymouth) and freshman Christopher Swirbalus (Hingham) each drove in four runs as the Bishops posted a first-round win in the Catholic Central League Cup playoffs. Williams will travel to No. 1 seed Austin Prep for a quarterfinal on Friday.
Senior Aidan McDonnell of Quincy homered and drove in three runs for the Bishops, and senior Chris Kenney of Whitman was 3 for 4 with two doubles and three runs. Junior Matt Kowalski of Weymouth threw a complete-game two-hitter with six strikeouts.

Canton 4, Foxboro 1: Andrew Middleton allowed two hits over 6 innings with 11 strikeouts to lead the Bulldogs, who clinched the program’s first winning season in 17 years. Steve Burbank earned the save. Middleton was 2 for 3 with an RBI, and Nate Hewit was 3 for 4.

Oliver Ames 9, Stoughton 6: Down 6-3, the Tigers rallied for three runs in the top of the sixth to tie it and then scored three more in the seventh for the Hockomock League win. OA had 12 hits.
SOFTBALL
Bridgewater-Raynham 12, Durfee 0 (5 inn.): The Trojans (8-4) advanced to the Southeast Conference final as Lilly Welch threw an abbreviated three-hit shutout with nine strikeouts. Julia Shearstone had two hits, including a double, scored a run and drove in four for B-R. Jenna Merlino (3 RBI), Ky Hicks (2 RBI), Emma Talpey (2 hits, 2 runs), Riley Sroczinski (2 hits, RBI) and Asley Jacques (2 hits, 2 runs, RBI) also starred.

Notre Dame Academy 14, Fontbonne Academy 7: Shannon Macleod (2 for 4, RBI) pitched 6 innings, giving up three hits and striking out seven for NDA (10-2). Alison Chisholm pitched the final inning. Offensively, the Cougars were led by Olivia Gauthier (3 for 4, double, triple, RBI), Jules Burke (3 for 4, 2 doubles, 2 RBI) and Melanie Mason (2 for 4, double, 3 RBI).
South Shore Tech 16, Avon 10: Freshman Mia Bradshaw went 4 for 4 with three RBI to lead the Vikings (6-4). Mackenzie Jepsen and Rose Earner each went 2 for 4 with three RBI, and seniors Elizabeth Enman, Sarina Moran and Ayla Ludlow all had two hits.

BOYS TRACK & FIELD
West Bridgewater 110, Atlantis Charter 23: Ben Fuller won the long jump, triple jump and 100 meters and ran on the winning 4x100m relay to pace the Wildcats (4-1). Sammy Souza won the discus and javelin, ran on the winning 4x400m relay and took second in the 400m. Madsen Anderson won the mile and the 800m, breaking a school record in the latter.
Brockton 95, Bridgewater-Raynham 40: On Wednesday, the Boxers wrapped up a 4-0 regular season as Dourvens Bleus won the 100m (:10.6) and 200m (:22.0). Brockton also was led by Caleb Deane (mile, 4:47.5), Nick O’Connell (2-mile, 10:40.5) and Mamadu Tchamo (800m, 2:07.5).
Jean Karlo Galvao Duenes won the 400m hurdles (1:02.3) and 110m hurdles (:15.8). The 4x100m relay of Josh Centeio, Malachi Johnson, Christensen Paul and Darren Castor won in :44.7. Noah Moore won the discus (100-7) and had a state-qualifying throw of 45-11 in the shot put. Josh Centeio won the long jump (19-4.75).
The Boxers will compete at the Southeast Conference championships at Durfee on Saturday.
East Bridgewater 81, Middleboro 55: On Wednesday, the Vikings (8-0) clinched their 14th consecutive South Shore League championship, stretching their outdoor dual-meet win streak to 91. EB was led by double-winners Kevin McBirney (mile, 800m) and Kalan Aylward (long Jump, triple jump). Aylward also placed second in the 200m. Other winners were Aiden Purcell (javelin), Hayden Frew (shot put), and Shea Cullinan (100m).

GIRLS TRACK & FIELD
West Bridgewater 111, Atlantis Charter 6: Kylie Lewis won the 200m with a state-qualifying time of 26.9 seconds to tie the program record as the Wildcats (5-0) wrapped up the dual-meet season. Mady May and Anna Trott both qualified for states in the high jump by clearing 4-10.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Braintree 3, Weymouth 0: The Wamps won, 25-11, 25-22, 25-9, in the consolation round of the Bay State Conference tournament.
Brockton 3, Quincy 1: The Boxers topped the Presidents (8-6) in non-league action, 25-15, 25-18, 19-25, 25-13. Quincy had 38 kills and 74 digs as a team.
GIRLS TENNIS
Stoughton 3, Oliver Ames 2: Ally Lada (No. 1) and Lena Allie (No. 2) posted singles wins for Stoughton, and Nadia Prokupiuk/Emilia Lada won at second doubles. OA got its points from the first doubles team of Caroline Peper and Morgan Vasiliou, and No. 3 singles player Mia Corradini.
BOYS TENNIS
Duxbury 5, Scituate 0: The host Green Dragons (13-0) advanced to Monday’s Patriot Cup final against Plymouth South.
GIRLS GOLF
Hingham crowned: The Harborwomen took home the Patriot League tournament title at South Shore Country Club, beating Duxbury in a playoff.
