Deadlocked without a score through 40 minutes of play?
That was the problem the Middleboro and Millis High girls soccer teams had Monday night.
Enter Jessica Perry, a Middleboro High sophomore. She solved that pretty quick.

Perry netted a hat trick in the second half alone, powering the Sachems to a 4-0 win at home. Two minutes after scoring her second goal of the night, she booted a corner kick which set up teammate Mary Cox for another tally.
Goalkeeper Hannah Larson made six saves in her second straight shutout for Middleboro, which improved to 2-1-2 with the win.

GIRLS SOCCER
Norwell 2, East Bridgewater 0: Junior Sara Grace Edelman and sophomore Paige McGuire both scored goals, while senior captain Maddie Macdonald picked up an assist. Norwell goalie Abby Greene made 11 saves in a shutout effort.

Cohasset 2, Sandwich 2: The Skippers departed this non-league game deadlocked at 2.
Archbishop Williams 4, Bishop Fenwick 1: Maeve White scored three goals and Ciara Delaney added one on a penalty kick. The Bishops improve to 5-0 on the season.
Hull 5, Abington 1: Hull sophomore Elly Thomas had a big day with three goals and two assists; junior Sarah Duran and sophomore Fallon Ryan each chipped in with one goal and one assist, respectively. Senior Amelia Donovan earned her fifth win of the season in net, while Hailey Gould, Mattie Tuchman and Ronni Fleming (one assist) also had strong performances for the Pirates.

West Bridgewater 2, Rockland 1: Rachael Geniuch and Kylie Fuller each scored on set-ups from Amanda Jacques (two assists). Emma Lavoie had a solid game on defense for the Wildcats.
Southeastern 0, Holbrook 0: Sophomore goalkeeper Paige Crockett was impressive in net for the Hawks, with help from the team’s defensive front.
Cardinal Spellman 3, Bishop Stang 3: Emma Pero (two goals) and Mary Heffernan (one) led the scoring charge for the Cardinals and Marina Duffy added an assist. Isabella McDonough, Julia Curtin, and Clare Varano led the defense charge.

Oliver Ames 2, Mansfield 0: Jolie Diaz and Lucinda Li Cotter were the goal-scorers for the Tigers, who improve to 3-1-0 with the Hockomock win. Emma Gavin and Rhiya Fisher came away with assists. Goalkeeper Janiya Matier recorded the shutout with crucial saves made in the second half.
Thayer Academy 3, Austin Prep 2: Sophomores Riley Roycroft (two goals) and Taryn Madsen scored for the Tigers.
BOYS SOCCER
Rockland 4, West Bridgewater 0: João Faria, Ryan Sullivan, Mikey MacDougall and James McCrorey each tallied goals. Kellen Porter secured the shutout for the Bulldogs (4-1).
Abington 2, Holbrook 1: Abington’s Richard Galvao scored the tying goal with five minutes left and Lury Cassemiro netted the winner in stoppage time. Trevor Grafton also had an assist for the Green Wave (5-1).
Bishop Stang 7, Cardinal Spellman 1: Nate Monteiro scored on a penalty kick for the Cardinals and Brendan Eddy played well in the midfield.

Whitman-Hanson 2, Cohasset 1: For Whitman-Hanson, Dani Sanchez scored in the first half, Pablo Da Rocha Silva in the second. Goalkeeper Dillon Galanis, paired with Cameron Reader and Chase Fostello turned in an active defensive front for the Panthers. The loss drops Cohasset to 1-3.
Cambridge Rindge & Latin 5, Quincy 1: The Presidents lost at home on Monday.
Oliver Ames 2, Mansfield 0: Senior Mikey MacAdams scored on a set-up from sophomore Casey Milliken in the first half and Milliken later booted a penalty kick goal in the second half to seal the win. Goalkeeper Drew Hall recorded his first shutout, backed by Diego Rivera, Jackson Merceiri, Hector Bucio and Jake Williams in the back. Craig Churchill, Andrew Martins, Ryan Linhares and Mirray Silva played well on the OA attack.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Duxbury 3, Silver Lake 0: The unbeaten Dragons coast to a sweep (25-6, 25-17, 25-11).
Abington 3, Rockland 1: This South Shore League match went the Green Wave’s way.
Hingham 3, Plymouth North 1: Led by standouts Nora Schulze and Mathilde Megard, the Harborwomen won the final three sets (24-26, 25-15, 25-18, 25-18). Hingham improves to 3-2 on the season.
Dartmouth 3, Oliver Ames 2: Senior Maddie Homer (41 digs, 37 receptions) teamed up with sophomore Clare Kavoulis (36 assists), junior Sarah Hilliard (21 kills) and junior Claire O’Rourke (17 kills) to post a valiant effort, despite the Tigers losing in five sets (25-23, 22-25, 22-25, 26-24, 13-15).
Pembroke 3, Hanover 1: The Titans won in four sets (25-23, 27-25, 25-12, 25-16). Bella Pineau (seven kills, five aces and one block) and Alexa Rowe (five kills, one block and five digs) played well for Hanover.
Whitman-Hanson 3, Marshfield 1: The Panthers took this Patriot League standoff (23-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-22). Whitman-Hanson’s junior captain Riley Codero rattled off an eight-point service run, and sophomore Caroline Gray sealed the fourth and final set with back-to-back kills. The Panthers are now 4-2 overall.
Canton 3, Notre Dame Academy 2: The Bulldogs grabbed a win in this tightly-contested non-league matchup.
BOYS GOLF
Norwell 138, Middleboro 114: For Norwell (5-1), senior Griffin Link was the medalist with two-under par (34) and senior Matt Dassatti shot even par (36) .
Hanover 268, Plymouth South 262, Pembroke 253 : Chris Doherty shot a 38 to headline the Hawks’ victory. Plymouth South James Lopes and Demetri Stefos both shot a 40. Sean Holmes was Pembroke’s medalist with a 40; Declan Battell (42) and Matt Bergamesca (43) followed strong in the Titans’ loss at Harmon Golf Club in Rockland.
Scituate 294, Whitman-Hanson 252: Junior captain Blake Belcher was the standout for the Panthers (0-4) at Ridder Farm Golf Club in East Bridgewater.
Duxbury 225, Barnstable 249: Six players stood out for the Dragons — Owen Hamilton (36), Devin Kenneally (36), Zach Hamilton (37), Tom Greenwood (38), Ryan Sherwood (39), Andrew Curley (39).
Bridgewater-Raynham 131, Brockton 96: Justin Peters’ hot streak continues — he was the medalist for the Trojans with a one-under par 35, his third consecutive match with such a finish. Richie Thayer (40) and Pat Concannon (41) were followed by Jason Coughlin (42), Casey Wensley (44) and Liam Barry (45) for the Trojans, who improve to 4-1 with the win.

Marshfield 227, Quincy 303: The Rams got the better of the Presidents on Monday.
Mashpee 83, Rockland 73: The Bulldogs lost a close one.
FIELD HOCKEY
Notre Dame Academy 2, Pembroke 0: The Cougars won this non-league battle.
Plymouth North 5, West Bridgewater 1: Maeve Campbell’s hat trick led the way for Plymouth North, but teammate Megan Hanna wasn’t far behind with a pair of goals herself. Bella Piekarski (2), Annalise Lopes and Anna Bergstrom racked up assists in the win.
Bourne 5, Southeastern 0: The Hawks fall in a non-league game.
Carver 6, Mashpee 0: Ava Camelo scored three goals for the Crusaders, who were also backed by strong outings from Madison Butler (2 goals, 1 assist) and Kayleigh Shurtleff (1 goal, 1 assist). Natalie Waitkus, Ashleigh Johnson and Izzy Mercer recorded assists for Carver (3-1-1). Alli Thomas and Jenna Newell played great defense, helping goalie Ali Perry record a shutout.
Barnstable 7, Bridgewater-Raynham 0: The Trojans got shut out on the road.
Plymouth South 0, St. John Paul II 0: This non-league tilt battle ended without a goal scored.
Martha’s Vineyard 7, Brockton 0: The Boxers lost at home.
