St Raphael’s, education, enrolment
The graduating class of 2020 celebrated significant success in their HSC results and future pathways. All of St Raphael’s Year 12 students who submitted applications for university were successful in gaining early admission. One of those students, Parneet Kaur is now studying at the University of NSW studying a Bachelor of International Studies and a Bachelor of Media. Parneet also received an HSC Award for Academic Excellence from the Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst for her outstanding HSC results. St Raphael’s School captains Jack Harper and Kate Price led the school as role models during the 2020 school year, and are now leading the way in their pursuits, with Jack gaining an apprenticeship as a Stock and Station Agent with Allan Gray & Co, and Kate studying a Bachelor of Education at Charles Sturt University. Mr Thomson, Secondary Curriculum Coordinator at St Raphael’s, was very pleased with the overall success of the Year 12 cohort. “Our Year 12 students have displayed an excellent work ethic in applying themselves to their studies, and they have been guided by our exceptional teachers in achieving success in a range of pursuits,” he said. “To have each and every student either gaining entry to university, success in gaining an apprenticeship or traineeship or full time employment is a wonderful achievement.” Principal, Mr Gallagher, was proud of everyone’s efforts. “The beauty of St Raphael’s is that we offer the opportunity for students and their families to be a part of this wonderfully caring and supportive school community from Kindy to Career.” The St Raphael’s 6 week “Kindy Start ” program will run from September 1 until October 20, and is a valuable part of the orientation process. Preschool visits have also begun, with local preschools spending an orientation day at the school. The Year 7 transition program commenced in Term 1 and is a valuable opportunity for prospective Year 6 students, designed to provide support and direction for new students, and ensuring they build a solid foundation for secondary schooling.
