The Office for Civil Rights at the US Department of Health and Human Services has helped resolve two religious discrimination complaints. One involved a newborn in the hospital separated from his mother, whose request for a Catholic priest to administer the Sacrament of Baptism was denied due to a COVID-19 policy. The other case involved the Sacraments of Holy Communion and the Anointing of the Sick to a COVID-positive patient.
