As South Mill Arts counts down to panto season with Jack and the Beanstalk, which dominates the stage from December 3, November at the Bishop’s Stortford’s arts venue sees the focus on the local community.
Amateur companies Bishop’s Stortford Academy of Performing Arts and the award-winning Bishop’s Stortford Musical Theatre Company present their major productions of the musicals Nativity and Kipps – The New Half a Sixpence, both of which run for five nights plus a Saturday matinee.
There’s also a show by Hertford-based Xpression Dance plus storytime, museum tour, Midweek Music and a talk about Bishop’s Stortford places with a connection to the First World War…
Storytime: Is Tomek telling fibs?

Join us for Storytime in the museum. Enjoy a story, songs and colouring or craft. We can welcome up to 12 children at a time and will read the story several times if needed and provide activities whilst you wait.
Is Tomek telling fibs about the animals getting in his way? Is there really a goat in his coat?

This fun-filled family show with an orchestra is brought to South Mill Arts by Bishop’s Stortford Academy of Performing Arts, featuring a cast of talented adults and children.

Flash, bang, wallop! What a show! The award-winning Bishop’s Stortford Musical Theatre Company (BSMTC) makes a welcome return to The Mill stage with their dazzling production of this reinvented musical.

Free lunchtime talk by David Clare, who will take the audience on a walk down memory lane with a slide show giving today’s views of places in the town with connections to the First World War.
Midweek Music: Alexander Veitch

Alex is a musician, composer, arranger and teacher from Bristol. He performs regularly at venues including Ronnie Scott’s, The Vortex and Café Oto, including a current bimonthly residency upstairs at Ronnie Scott’s. He was awarded a scholarship to attend the Jazz Piano Masters course at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, finishing in 2013.
