New Jersey:– Have you ever dreamt of setting foot on Mars? Now’s your chance! NASA is searching for a daring crew of volunteers to participate in a year-long simulated Mars mission at the Mars Dune Alpha habitat, a specially designed facility on Earth mimicking the Red Planet’s environment.
This groundbreaking mission aims to test the physical and psychological effects of long-duration space travel. Volunteers will experience Martian sunrises, astronaut rations, and scientific experiments while contributing to invaluable research that will prepare future astronauts for missions to Mars.
Who can apply?
- Anyone over 18 who is physically and mentally healthy and possesses a sense of adventure
- Prior experience in science, engineering, or piloting preferred (master’s degree in STEM field or 1,000+ hours of piloting experience a plus)
- Strong desire for unique, rewarding adventures and interest in contributing to space exploration
What to expect:
- Rigorous selection process, including medical and psychological evaluations
- A year-long stay in the Mars Dune Alpha habitat, facing simulated challenges like isolation, limited resources, and communication delays
