Aramis Centeno, loving husband, son, brother, and godfather was received into the Lord’s embrace on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.
Aramis was born December 19, 1978, in San Antonio, Texas, son of Joseph and Joyce Centeno. In his adolescence, he attended San Antonio Academy where he was a state champion wrestler. In his athletic endeavors at Central Catholic High School, he contributed to the development of the lacrosse program.
After graduating from Central Catholic High School in 1998, Aramis double majored in Architectural Design and Building Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. Shortly after graduating, he returned home to work in the family business at M&M Marble company, where he gained invaluable hands-on experience in his field of study. Full of knowledge, experience, and talent, he went on to work for Alamo Architects for about 15 years. At Alamo, his colleagues described him as someone who had an incredibly artistic eye and an aptitude for beautiful design. His ability to see details and features that most others would take for granted contributed to his uncompromising set of values for his craft. This was evident in his commitment to all his endeavors regardless of the challenges and obstacles that arose. He was someone who worked to make projects reach their maximum potential by seeing them through all the way down to the last detail.
Aramis joined The NRP Group in 2021 as an important member of the marketing department’s creative design team. During the time with the group he made significant contributions to NRP’s portfolio of projects located across the entire country. Aramis made invaluable contributions and worked hand in hand with the development team and construction. He was instrumental in helping to launch both the Texas affordable portfolio as well as the first market-rate projects in San Antonio, helping to set the stage for what the Texas market is today. He personally touched and influenced those involved in the projects he worked on, ultimately positively affecting the lives of those he knew needed it the most.
Above everything else, Aramis possessed a humanity that is rare which he demonstrated to all those he encountered through his kind, generous, affectionate, hospitable personality and character. His love of life, beauty, and his enthusiasm were infectious and brought joy to everyone who had the opportunity to meet him. He adored his wife and family, and held those close to him in high esteem and regard. Aramis was always available and ready to support anyone who was in need without prejudice. In many ways he embodied the best of what each of us possess and reflected it back to us, allowing us to experience a part of the joy he felt from being alive. Aramis’ loving soul and large heart changed the lives of everyone fortunate enough to meet him.
Aramis is survived by his wife, Veronica Guerrero Centeno, his parents, Joe Centeno III and Joyce Centeno, his brother, Josef Centeno, his in-laws, Ruben and Fatima Guerrero, his aunts Mona Lowe and Alice Jo Krupp, his godchildren, Sean Matthew Guerrero, Lucille Pauline Guerrero, Elliana Victoria Guerrero, Ocean Thomas, Damu Scott as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, many other beloved family members, neighbors, and friends.
Family and friends gathered to honor Aramis’ life with the recitation of the rosary on Sunday, February 13, 2022. A memorial mass was held on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. You can watch a recording of his services by visiting www.porterloring.com
