Adele Janie DiBella, 83, of Gig Harbor, WA, passed from this life to the next on December 5, 2022. Adele was born on September 3rd, 1939, and was the only child of Inaco and Tosca Lucchesi: first generation Americans of Italian decent and longtime owners and operators of Tacoma French Bakery on Center Street in Tacoma.
She was raised Catholic and went to Catholic schools had a very real relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. She was truly a woman of faith.
Adele was married to Robert L. Beck, Sr. around 1960. They built a family and life together in Fircrest, Washington, and they had two kids: Robert in 1962 and Deborah in 1965.
In the 1970’s through the mid 1980’s, you would have found her behind the counter serving customers or busy decorating cakes at their own place: Beck’s Fircrest Bakery on Regents Blvd. It wasn’t her passion, but she gave her heart to it all, becoming quite sought after for the beauty and delicacy of her cake decorating.
In the mid-80s, their marriage came to an end, though, and she moved in to care for her folks in Gig Harbor.
Adele loved numbers. She thrived on book-keeping and accounting for many years, wrapping up her career as an Accounts Receivable Specialist at Weyerhauser.
And despite not looking for a second chance for love, Adele was blessed with just that, with the love of her life, Frank DiBella, of Huntington Beach, CA. Adele and Frank met through a finely orchestrated set-up over pinochle in the summer of 2007. After just over a year of courtship via email and phone, the two found themselves engaged and walking up the aisle on October 4, 2008. They initially lived in Huntington Beach, CA, and went on to build a new home and life together in Lake Havasu City, AZ, shortly thereafter. Frank shared his love of food, family and friendship until his passing in August of 2021. For her last year and final days, Adele moved back home to Gig Harbor, WA, in the care of her daughter and son-in-law, Scott MacGougan.
Adele is survived by her two children, Robert L. Beck, Jr and his family and loved ones (Tyler, Heather, Cynthia & Colby) and Deborah A. MacGougan and hers (Scott, Devon & Lianna). She had the joy of 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, with one more on the way.
We mourn our loss, but REJOICE that she is in the heavenlies with her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, and all those who have gone before her. Well done, good and faithful servant! Until we meet again…
