Canton Woman’s Club Holiday Open House is Dec. 2
CANTON − The Canton Woman’s Club’s 154-year-old Victorian home at 822 Market Ave. N will be open to the public Dec. 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. The building will be lavishly decorated for the holidays. The event is free and offers free parking in the private parking lot next to the building.
The house will be filled with musical sounds of the season featuring Matthew Jaroszewicz, assistant conductor of the Canton Symphony; Dennis Vernier, popular local event musician; and Bob Morrison, renowned local musician of Palace Theatre fame. They will be playing holiday favorites on the Steinway grand piano in the second-floor ballroom or on the organ on the main floor throughout the evening. Several club members will provide piano and violin holiday music.
Shop in the Christmas Room or, for a donation, choose an ornament for the In Memoriam Tree or to take home for your tree. Free cookies, coffee and punch will be served in the upstairs ballroom.
For those interested, a holiday dinner will be served in two seatings from 5 to 6 p.m. or 6 to 7 p.m. in the first-floor dining room amid decorated Christmas trees. The dinner menu is a choice of Swiss steak or cranberry chicken plus salad, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn casserole, roll, beverage and cookies. Cost is $23 per adult, and $15 per child 12 and younger.

Free Kids Friday at Pro Football Hall of Fame
CANTON − The Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Annual Free Kids Friday event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. The yearly event is a way of kicking off the holiday season and welcome families to a fun-filled day of activities, holiday cheer and giveaways. All kids ages 12 and younger accompanied by an adult purchasing admission at the regular rate of $33 will be admitted into the Hall of Fame free. There must be one adult admission purchased for every four children. This Free Kids Friday admission offer is not valid with any other discounts or coupons. Every child age 18 and younger will receive a grab bag full of football merchandise provided by the Hall’s NFL-licensed partners while supplies last. Santa Claus will be available for photos with visitors from noon to 2 p.m. Toys for Tots will be collecting new toys and taking monetary donations. Guests can bring a new, unwrapped toy.
MAPS fundraising dance is Saturday
GREEN − The Military Aviation Preservation Society Museum, 2260 International Parkway, is hosting its last fundraising dance of 2022 featuring LaFlavour on Saturday.
Unlike the previous dances, this occasion will not require registration. The dance features “Five Decades of Hits,” live music by LaFlavour. Because it is not catered, admission is reduced to $10 per person, payable at the door. Guests may bring their own food and nonalcoholic beverages.
The dance will be in the MAPS aircraft hangar amid restored historic planes. Beverages, chips, and cookies will be available at the snack bar. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
The dance is open to museum members and the general public. Doors open at 6 p.m., with music starting at 7 p.m. and lasting until 10. No reservations are needed.
Concerts at Hartville Kitchen on Saturday
HARTVILLE − Ernie Haase & Signature Sound will perform two dinner concerts at the Hartville Kitchen, 1015 Edison St. NW, on Saturday.

Lake Township Historical Society sets dinner, auction
LAKE TWP. − Lake Township Historical Society will have its annual dinner, silent and live auction on Dec. 2 at the Hartville Kitchen. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and seating for dinner is at 6:30. Price per meal is $35.
The Reflections from Lake High School will entertain with music and dance steps. A short business meeting and election of LTHS board members will follow.
Items to be auctioned include a one-week stay in a private home near Sarasota, Florida, and a stay at Gervasi Vineyard with breakfast, birthday or anniversary balloons, a bottle of Prosecco, a sampling of homemade desserts and a $75 gift card.
The silent auction includes baskets filled with items such as chocolate from The Chocolate Factory; beauty and body products from Beginnings Salon and Day Spa; meats, cheese, and fruit from Beiler’s; items from Maize Valley Farm. Also on the silent auction table will be Rubbermaid items; Cleveland Monsters tickets; four rounds of golf from Sable Creek; and gift certificates from various local businesses.

MASSILLON − The Friends of the Massillon Public Library will hold a book sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Massillon Public Library Book Garage located diagonally across the street from the library on the southwest corner of Lincoln Way and Second Street. Small Business Saturday in Minerva
MINERVA − Minerva will celebrate Small Business Saturday this Saturday.
A wide variety of businesses throughout the village will be offering discounts, giveaways, door prizes and activities. A map of participating businesses, their hours, and special offers will be available at the businesses and on the Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce Facebook page. The first three customers at each location will receive a goody bag filled with information and treats.

Perry Rotary Turkey Trot is Thursday
PERRY TWP. − The 26th annual Perry Township Rotary Turkey Trot will be Thursday. This is a 5K Run/Walk, Competitive Walk, and Little Gobbler Run at Central Catholic High School, 4824 Tuscarawas St. W.
Packet pickup is at Central Catholic High School, 4824 Tuscarawas St. W, in the gymnasium from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, and from 7 to 8:40 a.m. Thursday. Start times are 8 a.m. for the Little Gobbler Run and 8:40 a.m. for 5K Events (5K Run/Walk & 5K Competitive Walk).
