DELAWARE, Ohio (April 15, 2022) – For the fourth game in a row, the Denison University men’s lacrosse team handed its opponent its first loss in North Coast Athletic Conference action so far this season, but this time the result put the Big Red in sole possession of first place in the NCAC standings. In the end, Denison defeated longtime rival Ohio Wesleyan University 13-8 after a big second half in what began as a battle between the final two teams from the NCAC with an undefeated conference record of 4-0.
After three ties in a very competitive first half, Denison trailed 5-4 at halftime before a goal by Will Kenney just over two minutes into the third quarter tied it again at 5-5.

Then in the fourth quarter, a goal a minute in a half in by Camden Bowdy and assisted by Kenney made it a 3-0 Denison run to take an 8-6 advantage.
After a goal by the Battling Bishops with 12:20 left to play got it back to a one-score game, Denison put it out of reach with a 4-0 run starting with the third goal of the game by Bowdy with 11:35 left and ending with back-to-back goals by Nate Kay to make it 12-7 with just over six minutes remaining.
In all, Denison outscored OWU 9-3 in the second half.
Denison also outshot the Bishops 48-22 overall and 29-13 on goal, and won 18 of 24 faceoffs while OWU’s MacGuire Scholl had a strong start in goal and finished with 16 saves overall.
