New Jersey: James C. Mukkadan, 68 of Hillsborough, NJ passed away on November 27th, 2019 after a long battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. James was born in Changanacherry, Kerala, India on June 2, 1951 and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from the College of Pharmacy Trivandrum. He worked throughout the Middle East as a pharmacist and pharmaceutical sales representative for 21 years before moving with his family to New Jersey in 1998. He also worked as a chemist for Akorn for 16 years.
James was well-known in New Jersey’s Malayalee Community. One of his proudest accomplishments was helping found the St. Thomas Syro Malabar Catholic Church, which has grown to over 250 registered families. He was a trustee board member of Kerala Association of New Jersey (KANJ) and also started the Alumni Organization for SB College and College of Pharamacy Trivandrum.
James is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, Rose Mukkadan; his son Leon Mukkadan and wife Christina Gubitosa with their son Anthony James Mukkadan; his son Chris Mukkadan and wife Sumi Joseph with their son Elijah James Mukkadan; his daughter Angela Mukkadan; his sisters and brothers; many cousins, nieces and nephews. James is preceded in death by his father Joseph Chacko and mother Annamma Chacko Mukkadan.
A funeral mass will be held at 3:00pm on December 1 at St Thomas Syro Malabar Catholic Church (508 Elizabeth Ave, Somerset, NJ 08873). Visitation will be held immediately after the mass.
A burial mass will be held at 9:00 am on December 2 at the same church followed by the burial at Resurrection Cemetery (100 Acres at Hoes Lane and Park Avenue, Piscataway, NJ 08854) at 12:00pm.
