Cardinal George Pell is writing a series of books about his time in prison, and the first volume will be published this month. For the cardinal, “being falsely imprisoned and suffering great trials for the past three years taught him that Jesus’ teaching ‘on many things is absolutely true’ and that ‘the key to life is found in Christ’s words,'” as stated in the National Catholic Register. Rome Correspondent for EWTN’s National Catholic Register, Edward Pentin, was one of the first journalists to interview Cardinal Pell. Pentin joins to give us a sense of what the books will cover and what the cardinal hopes to achieve by publishing them. The journalist also gives insight into what the cardinal’s general attitude was, what interesting reflections he had about his time in prison, and when the other two volumes of the book series will be published.
