A new video series titled “Jesus and the Dead Sea Scrolls” is exploring the connection between Jesus, the sacraments and the Dead Sea Scrolls. Biblical scholar, Dr. John Bergsma, discusses the scrolls and the insights they gave into a Jewish community called the Essenes, that lived in the centuries just before and during the life of Jesus. Franciscan University of Steubenville president, Fr. Dave Pivonka, talks about the connection between this historical find and our faith today, and how this has helped further our understanding. Fr. Pivonka also shares what he would like viewers of the series to keep in mind and reflect on during this Advent season.
