Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard for the state of Hawaii introduced a bill that would mandate medical care for infants who survive an attempted abortion. If the bill is passed, it would protect the lives of babies who survive abortions or attempted abortions. This pro-life proposal runs contrary to the Democratic party’s pro-abortion platform. Kristen Day, the executive director of Democrats for Life of America, says “There are about 21-million pro-life Democrats nationwide, and a majority support reasonable regulation of abortion and are against taxpayer funding of abortion. So the Democratic leadership is very out of touch with their base.” The congresswoman’s bill would amend the US criminal code to ensure a health care practitioner exercises the proper degree of care in the case of a child who survives an abortion or attempted abortion. Capitol Hill Correspondent, Erik Rosales reports.
